We are pleased to confirm the return of ex student and coach Corey Prouting who will be our Hockey Elective and 1st XI Boys Coach for the season 2020!

Corey returns to Pehu having previously coached Pehu Hockey from 2009-2016 where our team were outside the top 75 secondary school teams in NZ and in 2015 placed 10th under his leadership. He also guided our Boys 1st XI to 6 Championships for the Manawatu Secondary School Competition in his first stint as coach here.

Corey has grown his coaching CV in recent years which has seen him become one of 16 high performance coaches in NZ and in 2015 he won New Zealand Hockey Community Coach of the Year. This year Corey stepped up from Assistant Coach of Central National Hockey League Under 21's to become Head Coach of Central NHL which is an unbelievable testament to his work ethic and knowledge in the sport. And as recently as last week, as Head Coach of Horowhenua Rep Under 13's, he guided the team to win the Hatch Cup for the first time in the provinces history. As you can tell we are extremely excited to have this coaching guru propelling Waiopehu Hockey onto another level.
